No for real, totally made some yummy delicious snacks for this fiesta.

Not too crazy.  Wisconsin Amablue and something that was called “Bob’s Super Good Cheese”.. or something like that.  Also from Wisconsin.

When I buy a home (sometime soon) I’m going to plant a fig tree in my backyard.  Theres a hardy version!  :)

Then we move to almonds!  Little bit more classy but also delicious! Fixed up with butter, salt and sugar in an oven that heats too hot!  And then drizzled with olive oil and a dash or three of kosher salt.

My first experience with endive!

And now for the last two snacky things! .. that were pretty to photograph!

Really, don’t ever tell me to bring a few snacks.  I’ll retire to my petite ‘one-butt-kitchen’ and spend all afternoon whippin’ stuff up.

Those little caprese guys were so delicious.  I had Chris pick up some baby boy tomatoes on the way home so we could eat the rest of the cheese mix!  The endive didn’t get munched as much, but Chris loved the leftovers. (I love that he loves my cooking experiments.  I’ve never worked with endive! So easy and beautiful!)

Super easy all around: ‘matos were carved out with mozzarella cheese, basil, olive oil and lemon zest innards; endive guys had celery, apple, mayo, fresh lemon juice, blue cheese and toasted hazelnuts.  Yum-o.

I also made cheesecakes.  But they weren’t very pretty.  Carissa and I tried this chocolate cheesecake recipe that looked delicious, but when we made it it was sort of mousse-like and kind of weird-ish.  We thought it was the oven we were working with.. but when I tried it with mine (granted mine heats too hot) it still turned out with a funky-ish texture.  I don’t know.   I’ll keep trying.  Chris liked them anyways.

And then we put out Rolos!  Does it get any better for noshin’ on a sunday?
